PATHÉTIQUE (adj.)[pa-té-ti-k']

1. Qui touche l'âme et l'émeut. Orateur, discours pathétique.

Il passe pour constant que ce second acte est un des plus pathétiques qui soient sur la scène (CORN. Hor. Examen.)

Terme d'anatomie. Muscle pathétique, le grand oblique de l'oeil, ainsi nommé parce qu'il sert grandement à l'expression de l'oeil. Nerf pathétique, le nerf de la quatrième paire ; on le nomme aussi nerf oculo-musculaire interne.

2. S. m. Ce qui touche, émeut l'âme.

Le pathétique ne fait jamais plus d'effet que lorsqu'il semble que l'orateur ne le recherche pas, mais que c'est l'occasion qui le fait naître (BOILEAU Longin, Subl. ch. XVI)

Lettris

Lettris is a curious tetris-clone game where all the bricks have the same square shape but different content. Each square carries a letter. To make squares disappear and save space for other squares you have to assemble English words (left, right, up, down) from the falling squares.

boggle

Boggle gives you 3 minutes to find as many words (3 letters or more) as you can in a grid of 16 letters. You can also try the grid of 16 letters. Letters must be adjacent and longer words score better. See if you can get into the grid Hall of Fame !
